Track 28 – A Sky Full of Stars – Coldplay

Welcome back to the Unofficial Avicii appreciation society. This track is from 2014 off Coldplay’s sixth album, Ghost Stories and produced by the late Swedish EDM supremo.

It’s easy to be disparaging about Coldplay. Their music is inoffensive, mainstream and commercially successful so they are going to have their knockers, but you have to give them some respect. Music that shifts millions of copies does it for a reason. The music is good and people like it. They’re one of a few “rock” bands left that can fill stadiums, they played the Superbowl half time show and successful shifted between genres.

The tune is essentially an Avicii tune with Chris Martin singing and boy is it uplifting. When I think about this list, I really just want tunes that make you feel good and this is one of those.
