Track 24 – For What You Dream Of – Bedrock (1993)
Dropping back to an all-out dance classic this week. Off one of the best dance complication albums ever and part of the classic Trainspotting soundtrack, is the British electronic music duo (John Digweed and Nick Muir) with their dance floor stomper from the early 90s.
The original is a long but well worth it and will keep you driving through the middle miles. The slow build, the bells, the kick, the other kick, the early breakdown, the build, the drop. The vocals don’t arrive for another 30 seconds well into the 3rd minute of the song. When most songs are getting to the end, this one is just starting.
It takes me back to my university days when I finally got to go “proper” clubbing and within the first few weeks was off to see Sasha & Digweed at Bakers, Birmingham. I thought I was so cool. I may not have been cool, but this tune has certainly stood the test of time.
