The Awesome Running Playlist – Track 22

Track 22 – I Want Your Soul – Armand Van Helden (2007)

You may have not heard this one. Get some good headphones or speakers and whack it on!

You may know Armand Van Helden from his remix work, particularly the classic Professional Widow by Tori Amos or his tunes My My My or You Don’t Even Know Me. This is from his 2007 album Ghettoblaster, which harks back to the days of freestyle music that was popular in the 1980s.

An uplifting mix of keyboards, drum machines, use of filters and quality bass builds nicely to a thumping bassline that will have you rocking with your retro headband on.

Never heard of freestyle music or Latin freestyle? The genres breakout hit was Let The Music Play by Shannon, a stone cold 80s classic! See it here!
