Feeling for You – Cassius (1999)

Last month was marked by the recent passing of another influential DJ. French DJ and producer Philippe Zdar, who accidentally fell from a building in Paris in June 2019. Zdar was one half of the dance music duo, Cassius.

Cassius rose through the Paris electronic music scene known as French Touch and broke out with their hit 1999, in 1999. They also had hits with I Love U So and The Sound of Violence, the latter with had a large influence on the direction of dance music.

My favourite has always been the tune – Feeling for you. I had this on CD single and would have listened to it mostly via a cassette complication I made that would have been on rotation in my car.

I have always been a sucker for filtered French house, and this track is a perfect example of that with its funky bass line and single line vocal loop. Like the previous tune, a proper feel-good track that, on a sunny day, if this track dropped, you just can’t help but dance.
