Track 5 – Big Love – Pete Heller (1999)
After the insanity of Daft Punk, do we bring it down a little bit or keep the tempo high?
To settle you down and keep you plodding along, keeping your rhythm and flow, its Pete Heller’s hit from 1999.
Although it came out in the heydays of my time at University and partying across Europe, it wasn’t my favourite. I think I picked it up again maybe 8 years ago, hearing it on a podcast whilst running. I’ve added the long version here as i think it works better and allows the tune to build more. There is a shorter 3 minute version.
It’s the repetitiveness. There’s a little break and small build and then your back into the roll of the rhythm and the driving beat. It gives a real flow to your running. I can’t really explain it, I just like it. You’ll just have to give it a try.
Sample – Stargard – Wear it out (1979) a cheeky disco number.
To get us flowing through the middle kms its Big Love by Pete Heller.
