Offshore ’97 – Chicane with Power Circle (Anthony Pappa Bootleg Mix)

I have been thinking for some time which tune should have the accolade of being the 50^th selection on the Awesome Running Playlist. A number have nearly fought their way to the top, but I was listening to an old Renaissance mix CD recently and this tune flew out of the headphones and went straight to the top of the list.

This is actually one of my favourite tunes, and has got somewhat lost by myself and in the list of classic dance anthems.

I’m a bit of a stickler for originals, but this remix, originally a bootleg by Australian DJ Anthony Pappa gets the nod due to its uplifting lyrics goose bump inducing-ness.

The original and remix came along in a seminal years (1996 and 1997) for me and dance music and reached number 14 and then 17 in the UK charts respectively.

An excellent example of Balearic Trance and an Ibiza classic that will have to dreaming of sunny beaches, ice cold beers and great tunes with friends, that we can hopefully get back to soon.
