SALVA MEA – FAITHLESS (1995)
Faithless’s debut release before their career defining tune, Insomnia. While Salva Mea may not get the airplay or kudos of Insomnia, it does share the epic-ness.
Salva Mea is “Save Me” in Latin and the tune has a religious sound to it, which is what a great club can feel like. An element which Faithless latter played on in their track, God is A DJ.
Faithless were not a one-dimensional band and have total sales exceeding 15 million records worldwide. The track takes it time, its 10 minutes long and moves between the downbeat and the truly epic. I’ve never heard this in a club, but if I did, I would lose my sh*t.
